Dinosaurios

Dinosaurios formed in 1964 with Cesar Costa on vocals, Héctor Quijada on guitar, Juan José 'El Pecas' Barrón on bass, and Sergio Mancera on drums. They started playing in underground bars and at student protests during a turbulent period in Mexico. In 1968, they released their debut album 'Los Dinosaurios,' which included the song 'Ay Dolor.' That track became something of an anthem, with its straightforward rock sound and lyrics about everyday struggles connecting with listeners.

Their music sometimes got them in trouble with authorities. They kept recording through the 1970s and 1980s, putting out albums like 'La Máquina del Tiempo' in 1970 and 'Haciendo Historia' in 1982. Other songs in their catalog include 'Ciudad Del Surf,' 'La Bomba,' and 'Somos.'

The band broke up in the early 1990s but played some reunion shows in the 2000s. Their straightforward approach to rock music, anchored by songs like 'Ay Dolor,' made them a reference point for later Mexican rock bands.
