Disco Rouge was a disco group active in the late 1970s. Their song 'Disco Rouge' became a dance floor staple around 1976. The band was a quintet with Eric Santana on lead vocals, John Davis on guitar, Mary Jones on keyboards, Peter Ross on bass, and David Williams on drums.
They released a self-titled album in 1976 that featured their hit single. Two years later came 'Ecstasy,' which showed some funk and soul influences. A greatest hits collection called 'Night Fever' followed in 1980.
Like many bands of that era, they faced internal tensions and the pressures that came with popularity. Their stage costumes and lyrics sometimes drew criticism from more conservative listeners.
