Discobox was a Brazilian funk and disco band that formed in the mid-1990s. The group included Rogério Flausino on vocals, Hélio Fernandes on guitars, Alexandre Kassin on keyboards, Gian Fabra on bass, and Sérgio Britto on drums. Their first album came out in 1996, featuring the track 'Como Se Fosse Um Só' which became one of their signature songs.
In 1998, the band faced accusations that their lyrics promoted drug use, which they denied. That same year they released 'Preto ou Branco,' an album that dealt with themes of race and social justice. Other songs like 'Fim' and 'Pensamento Positivo' showed their range from reflective to upbeat material.
They put out a live album in 2000 and followed with 'Verão' in 2002, which drew from Bahian rhythms. The band broke up in 2008, but tracks like 'Por Merecer' and 'Pra Sempre' remain part of their catalog.
