Discount formed in Glasgow in 1982 with Jim Shepherd on vocals and guitar, Ian Holford on bass, and David Keegan on drums. They signed with Postcard Records and put out their debut album 'A Pict Song' in 1984. The title track from that record became one of their better-known songs.
In 1985, they released a second album called 'Day for Night.' They kept recording through the late 1980s with albums like 'Everything Is Falling Apart' and 'Rain.' Other songs from their catalog include 'Accident Waiting To Happen' and 'Am I Missing Something.'
