Disembowel (Grc)

Disembowel formed in Thessaloniki, Greece in the early 1990s with George Tolias on guitar and vocals, Kostas Sarris on bass, and Angelos Papanikolaou on drums. They've kept that lineup through most of their time together, which is unusual for a band in the extreme metal scene.

Their debut album 'Transcendence into Eternal Void' came out in 1996, followed by records like 'Hatred for Mankind' and 'Infinity in Agony.' Songs like 'Imposing Way of Living / Outro' and 'Return to the Killing Ground' show their approach: long, heavy tracks that build atmosphere alongside the aggression.

Some listeners have found their lyrics about violence and gore too graphic, but the band has generally kept making the music they want to make without much compromise. They're one of those Greek death metal bands that has stayed active for decades without changing their sound dramatically.
