Division Kent formed in Los Angeles when singer-songwriter Jordan Young met guitarist Ethan Thompson. They later added bassist Levi Hawthorne and drummer Austin Miles to complete the lineup. Their debut EP was called "Lucid Dreaming."
Their song "All You Fantasized" became particularly well-known, along with tracks like "Bordello Affair" and "Chemical Moon Baby." They released a sophomore album also titled "All You Fantasized."
Early on, some critics found their music too ethereal, but they kept working with their particular sound. Their recordings show a consistent interest in atmospheric arrangements and reflective lyrics.
