Dj Cia came up in Rio de Janeiro's Zona Sul, specifically from the Cantagalo favela. Her 2018 single 'Na Zona Sul' became a breakout track, built around a straightforward, catchy beat that connected with listeners. She works closely with her brother, known as Dj Boy, who handles production and beats.

Her music often features collaborations with other Brazilian artists, like on 'Não Espere Perfeição' with NP Vocal and Cynthia Luz. Other tracks such as 'O Corsinha Prata' and 'A Lei' followed a similar rhythmic pattern. Her lyrics tend to focus on life in her community, delivered in a direct, unfiltered style that has drawn both support and criticism.
