D'Ladrine formed in the early 2000s in Rio de Janeiro, led by vocalist Daiane Santos. She met keyboardist Bruno Amorim at a local music festival, and they were later joined by bassist Marcelo Silva and drummer Fabio Barreto. The band's name reflects their desire to make women shine.
In 2005, they released their debut album "Anjos," which featured the title track that became their signature song. The album showcased Daiane Santos's vocal range over the band's ethereal soundscapes. They went on to release several more albums including "Sonhos" in 2007, "Iluminadas" in 2010, and "Deixa Rolar" in 2013.
In 2012, Daiane Santos publicly revealed her battle with anorexia, which had affected her for years. Her openness about the condition resonated with many who struggled with eating disorders. The band's songs like "Arquitetos" and "Onde A Realidade Se Esconde" have been featured in Brazilian films and soap operas.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
