Archive material and source history
D'Lay was a Colombian salsa band that formed in Bogotá in the late 1990s. They had a lineup that included vocalist Victor Manuel García, pianist Gamaliel Reyes, bassist Jorgito Cedeño, timbales player Javier Vásquez, and conga player Leonardo Álvarez.
Their 2001 album 'Festa Sabado' gave them their breakthrough, with the title track becoming one of their most recognizable songs. They followed it with albums like 'Calle Maestra' in 2004 and 'La Fiesta Continúa' in 2007. Other songs in their catalog include 'Contradiction,' 'Finally,' and 'Like a Child.'
At one point in the early 2000s, the band temporarily disbanded due to financial difficulties, but they reunited in 2004 and kept recording. Their 2010 album 'Innovación' experimented with fusing salsa with other genres.
