DMC, which stands for Devastating Mic Control, came out of New York City in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The group was led by rapper Darryl "DMC" McDaniels.
Their early albums included "Run-DMC" from 1984 and "King of Rock" from 1985. Later records like "Tougher Than Leather" and "Under a Hood" showed them working with rock and funk sounds. Songs in their catalog include "Attention Please (feat. Pauley Perrette)" and "Cadillac Cars."
In 1990 they began collaborating with artists outside of hip-hop.
