Dodge formed in Los Angeles in the mid-2000s around David Ruppel on vocals and guitar, Chris Culos on bass, and drummer Sean Kirkpatrick. Their debut album 'The Puppeteer' came out in 2008, which included the song 'My Puppeteer.'
In 2007, Sean Kirkpatrick died in a car accident. Ruppel and Culos kept the band going after that. They put out two more albums, 'The Echo' in 2012 and 'The Abyss' in 2016.
They've had touring members like James Null on drums and Emily Irons on violin and keyboards. The band signed with a major label in 2010, which drew some criticism at the time.
