He kept recording through the 1970s and into the 1980s, with albums like 'Era Proibido' in 1973 and 'O Turno da Alegria' in 1981. His brother Dorival sometimes played bass or guitar on his records.
He was primarily a solo performer who wrote his own material. Later compilations like '30 Anos de Música' and '40 Anos de Música' collected songs from across those decades.
