Dolores Costoyas was born in Nigrán, Spain in 1967. She joined the Galician rock band Los Suaves in 1986, where her voice first gained attention. In 1990, she released her solo version of 'Odeon,' a song with lyrics by poet Luis Eduardo Aute. That recording became her most recognized work.
Her solo albums included 'Cabaret' in 1991, 'El Tiempo y la Memoria' in 1994, and 'Luz y Sombra' in 2001. She worked with musicians like Joan Manuel Serrat and Miguel Ríos. Her band featured guitar player Nacho Lesko, bassist Juan Carlos 'Chapi' Marín, drummer Javier García, and keyboardist Laura García.
Costoyas died in 2021. Her performance of 'Odeon' remains what most people remember.
