Dolores Delirio formed in the early 2000s around vocalist Paula Pedernera and guitarist Baltazar Comotto. They took their name from Frida Kahlo's alter ego and released their debut album 'Solo para Niños' in 2004. The band's sound had a folk-rock quality that felt both grounded and slightly ethereal.
Their second album '¿No Ves El Sol?' came out in 2006, with the title track becoming one of their most recognized songs. They followed with several more albums including 'El Jardín de los Inquietos' in 2009 and 'El Cielo en la Boca' in 2011. Other songs like 'A Cualquier Lugar' and 'Al Acecho' show their range across different recordings.
Paula Pedernera's voice carried much of their material, with lyrics that often touched on personal reflection and broader themes. The band maintained a consistent presence through the 2010s, releasing 'Universo Paralelo' in 2014 and 'La Luz' in 2018.
