Dolphinkids

Dolphinkids formed in 1993 with Takayuki Ishihara on vocals, Yuji Toriyama on guitar, Yoshihisa Suzuki on bass, and Masaki Wada on drums. They took their name from the ocean, which gave them a sense of freedom. Their debut album came out in 1995, titled Beyond the Blue Planet after the song of the same name.

That first album had an atmospheric, otherworldly quality that caught people's attention. The band's sound mixed rock and pop with ambient textures, and Ishihara's lyrics tended toward the philosophical. They followed it with records like Some Ocean in 1998 and Dear... in 2000.

Later albums included Kaleidoscope in 2003, Pulse in 2006, and The Other Side of the Mirror in 2009. Other songs from their catalog include Dead Lullaby, Dream I Had, Falling, and Get Down.
