Dominique Dussault

Dominique Dussault was a Montreal musician who released his debut album in 1973. The following year, his second album 'Marlène' gave him his most recognizable song, a melancholic ballad that became his signature piece.

His music sometimes faced criticism for being too dark or pessimistic, and his identity as a gay artist met with prejudice in the more conservative industry of the 1970s. He worked with musicians like guitarist Denis Plante and drummer Claude Fradette.

Dussault kept recording over the decades, with albums like 'Vie future' in 1976 and 'Renaissance' in 2005. His later work shifted toward more positive themes.
