Doogers

Doogers formed in São Paulo in 2004 around vocalist and guitarist Rodrigo Amarante, bassist Gabriel Thomaz, and drummer Rafael Castro. They released their self-titled debut album independently in 2006 after struggling to find a label willing to take on their sound, which mixed folk and rock with Brazilian rhythms.

Their 2009 album 'Umbigo Não É Supérfluo' brought them wider attention, largely on the strength of the single 'Com Os Pés No Chão.' The song's straightforward melody and lyrics about staying grounded connected with listeners. Other tracks like 'Correria' and 'Te Perder' also became staples for the band.

They kept recording through the 2010s, putting out albums like 'AEIOU' in 2011 and 'Sinais do Tempo' in 2015. Their music remained centered on the core trio's writing, though they sometimes worked with guest musicians. In 2012, they faced public accusations of plagiarizing a Luiz Gonzaga song, which they denied.
