Doomriders came out of Richmond, Virginia, and put out their first album, 'Bear Witness,' in 2012. Nate Garrett sang for the band, which also included Porcell on guitar, Adam Pierce on bass, and Matt Parrillo on drums. They had an EP called 'In the Shadow of the Beast' in 2010 and another self-titled one in 2011 before that album.
Their music was heavy, pulling from doom metal and sludge, and they followed 'Bear Witness' with 'Grand Blood' in 2015 and 'Darkness Come Alive' in 2018. Songs like 'Black Thunder' and 'Come Alive' showed their straightforward, unadorned approach to volume and riffing.
They toured regularly and built a following without much fuss about categories or commercial angles. The band kept at it through the 2010s, sticking to their sound without dramatic shifts or breaks in activity.
