Doomtree

Doomtree formed as a loose collective of hip-hop artists and producers in Minneapolis in the early 2000s. The group included P.O.S, Sims, Dessa, and Cecil Otter among its core members. They put out their first mixtape, 'Doomtree Presents: False Hopes,' in 2004, followed by projects like 'False Hopes II' and 'No Kings.'

Their sound mixed beats with introspective lyrics, heard on tracks like 'Bangarang' and 'Fresh New Trash.' The collective's approach often kept them separate from mainstream rap scenes, working with a DIY ethos that defined their early years in Minnesota.

Dessa brought her vocals and songwriting to the group, while other members handled production and rapping. They continued releasing music through the 2000s and 2010s, building a catalog that reflected their collaborative style without settling into a single genre lane.
