Downfall Rising formed in New York City in the early 2000s as a hard rock quartet. The original lineup included David Bunton on vocals, Sean McCourt on guitar, Joe Conners on bass, and Travis LeVrier on drums. Their debut album 'From the Ashes' came out in 2004, followed by 'Misery' in 2006, which featured the track of the same name.
Sean McCourt left the band in 2012, and Anthony DiDio Jr. joined as the new guitarist. They released 'Weight of the World' in 2013 and 'Magnetic' in 2016. The band's sound has been described as a mix of hard rock and metal with melodic elements.
