Dream Jacuzzi came together in Los Angeles in the early 2010s. Their first single, "Roselyn," got some attention in 2013. The band's lineup included Alex Ovechkin on vocals and guitar, Sophia Ercole on vocals and keyboards, Dan Allen on drums, and John O'Reilly on bass.
They put out a self-titled album in 2014, followed by "Aether" in 2016 and "Reverie" in 2018. Their songs like "Highway Run" and "Redbird" had a hazy, layered sound that drew from dream pop and shoegaze. Some listeners found their music a bit difficult to pin down.
They kept a fairly low profile as a band, which led to some talk about them being aloof or hard to approach. They didn't do much in the way of traditional promotion. Their work stayed in that same atmospheric lane through those three albums.
