Driguinhu formed in Belo Horizonte, Brazil in the early 2000s. The band included Driguinhu on vocals and guitar, Jônatas on guitar, Rodrigo on bass, and Regis on drums. They released their debut album in 2004, which featured the track "Te Amar." That song became popular in Brazil.
After their debut, Driguinhu put out several more albums over the next few years. Their bassist Rodrigo left the group in 2009, which led to a break while they found a replacement.
