The group was built around four rappers from the same neighborhood, all using variations on the Drilla name: Anthony Marshall as Drilla, his younger brother Darnell Ford as Lil Drilla, Darius Marshall as Young Drilla, and Antonio Marshall as Junior Drilla.
Their breakout track was '187 (Remix)' in 2003, a confrontational anthem that defined their style. They followed it with albums like 'Tha Rebirth' in 2004 and 'Warfare' in 2006, the latter featuring collaborations with established West Coast figures. Other songs in their catalog include 'Mankind (Remix)', 'Despise', 'Fallen', and 'Identity One'.
Their lyrics, which often dealt directly with violence and street life, drew consistent criticism. The group's output slowed after the 2008 compilation 'Bloodline', which collected their most notorious tracks including their signature hit.
