DRX formed in São Paulo in 1965, with Arnaldo Baptista on vocals and guitar, Sérgio Dias Baptista on guitar, Renato Andrade on bass, and Robertinho do Recife on drums. Their debut single 'E quem quer saber?' became an immediate hit in Brazil, and songs like 'Eu Faço Musica' and 'Hungry For Metal' showed their range from melodic rock to heavier material.

In 1968, their album 'Sgt. They kept recording despite this pressure, though their progressive sound and Arnaldo Baptista's personal struggles eventually strained the group.

DRX disbanded in 1975.
