D'Sound formed in Trondheim, Norway in 1993 when Kim Ofstad, Magnus Grønneberg, and Jonny Sjo came together. Their debut album 'Spice of Life' arrived in 1999, and the single 'Real Love' got them noticed on Norwegian radio. The band's third album 'Aurora Borealis' from 2001 included the song 'Audition,' which became one of their better-known tracks.

After Jonny Sjo left in 2009, guitarist Stefan Sundström joined. The band's sound shifted with their 2010 album 'Electric,' which leaned more toward electronic production. They've kept releasing albums since, including 'Signs' in 2013 and 'Between Two Shores' in 2018.
