Dub Pistols

Dub Pistols formed in London during the late 1990s, led by Barry Ashworth. Their debut album 'Point Blank' came out in 1998, featuring tracks like 'Cyclone' that mixed punk energy with drum and bass rhythms. The record helped define what people were calling electro-clash at the time.

They kept putting out albums every few years, including 'Six Million Ways to Live' in 2001 and 'Addict' in 2019. Songs like 'Back to Daylight' and 'Official Chemical' show their tendency to layer guitars and basslines over electronic beats. Their live shows developed a reputation for being loud and physical.

While some critics found their lyrics too aggressive or their connection to rave culture problematic, they kept working. The band's sound never settled into just one thing, pulling from punk, hip-hop, and various electronic styles without becoming a pure example of any of them.
