Dubbel Glas

Dubbel Glas formed in 1991 as a duo from the Tyrolean Alps, with Manfred Baumann on accordion and Hannes Oberhofer on bass. They started putting out albums the following year, including their debut 'Hoch in den Bergen von Tirol' which featured the song 'Hoog In de Bergen Van Tirol.'

Their approach to traditional Tirolean music sometimes incorporated modern elements, which drew mixed reactions from some listeners who preferred more conventional styles. The duo kept recording through the 1990s, releasing albums like 'Von der Alm bis zum Meer' in 1995 and a compilation of their material in 1998.

They marked twenty years together with a commemorative album in 2011. Their recordings became familiar in many Tyrolean households over those decades.
