Dubfire

Dubfire is the solo project of Ali Shirazinia, who first gained attention in the early 2000s as half of the duo Sharam and Dubfire. That partnership with Deep Dish member Sharam brought him into the global electronic spotlight. After they went separate ways, he started his own label, SCI+TEC, and kept working on his own material.

His tracks like 'Grindhouse' and 'Roadkill Finally' have a particular kind of detailed, driving sound that sits somewhere between techno and house. He's collaborated with other producers in that space, including Nicole Moudaber and Adam Beyer, but the work under his own name tends to be tightly focused and rhythmic.

There's not much grand narrative to it. He makes functional, sometimes intricate club music that has found an audience without needing to reinvent the wheel every time.
