Dublinstu formed in the early 2000s with Dylan O'Riordan on vocals and guitar, Aine O'Neill on keyboards, Sean Walsh on bass, and Eoin O'Connor on drums. They released a debut album called "The Emerald Isle" that included the song "Smile," which got some attention. They put out two more albums after that, "City Lights" and "Whispers of the Sea."
In 2007, O'Riordan was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder, which led to some canceled tours. The band also drew criticism at times for their lyrics and public statements about social and political issues.
