Archive material and source history
Dupla Elyah is a Brazilian duo made up of sisters Helen and Hanna Wille. They're from Quixadá, Ceará, and started releasing music around 2014 with a self-titled debut album. Their song "É Necessário" came out in 2018 and drew attention for its lyrics about Brazil's political climate.
Helen Wille writes most of their material and has the stronger vocal presence, while Hanna's voice provides a lighter counterpoint. They've put out several albums since starting, including "Tudo de Novo" in 2016 and "Rasga" in 2022. Another track people know is "Eu Te Vi."
In 2019, Helen was diagnosed with breast cancer and took about a year away from performing before returning.
