Dupla Resgatando Valores formed in 1996 when Marcelo Dias and Guilherme de Sá came together in Minas Gerais, Brazil. They started making gospel music with a straightforward purpose, and their debut album shared the name of their most recognizable song, "Somente Jesus."

That song became their calling card, a simple declaration that resonated with listeners. They followed it with albums like "Resgatando Valores" in 1998, "Fé" in 2000, and "Milagres" in 2004, building a catalog around their shared faith.

The duo's sound worked because of how their roles fit together. Marcelo Dias handled lead vocals and wrote much of the material, while Guilherme de Sá provided harmonies and instrumental backing.
