Dyow Paixão formed in 2008, started by Anderson Paes and Thiago Silva. They put out their first album, 'Promessa de Amor,' in 2010. A couple years later came 'A Saudade Prometeu,' which gave them one of their best-known songs.
That song, 'A Saudade Prometeu,' along with tracks like 'Você Não Era Nada' and 'Tá Recatada,' got some attention in Brazil. The band works with samba and MPB sounds, the kind of thing you'd hear around Rio.
In 2013 there was some talk about a melody sounding similar to another artist's work, but it didn't seem to stick around long. They kept putting out albums through 2016 with 'Alma Carioca.'
