Archive material and source history

E-Day Band came out of Puerto Rico in the early 2000s, when reggaeton was just starting to find its feet. The group was Eddy Flow and DJ Kane, two guys who worked up a sound that pulled from dancehall and hip-hop as much as it did from reggaeton's core. They weren't the first, but they had a knack for hooks that caught on.

Their debut album in 2004 was called 'Reggae Vida,' named after the track that became their calling card. That song, along with 'Fogo do Senhor,' gave them a solid run in the mid-2000s. They put out a few more albums like 'Mi Reggaeton' and 'Los Reyes del Reggaeton,' and worked with some of the bigger names in the scene at the time.

By the end of the decade, the sound had shifted and newer acts had taken over. E-Day Band's moment was relatively brief, but for a few years there, 'Reggae Vida' was everywhere in certain circles.
