Archive material and source history

E-Type was a Swedish dance group that formed in 1991 around vocalist Martin Eriksson, Johan Lindgren, and Stephan Brandt. Their debut single 'Set the World on Fire' came out in 1994 and found an audience across Europe. The group's 1996 album 'The Explorer' included the track 'This Is the Way,' which became a top ten hit in several countries.

They put out a series of albums through the late 1990s and early 2000s, like 'Made in Sweden' and 'Loud Pipes Save Lives.' Songs such as 'Do You Always (Have To Be Alone)?' and 'Angels Crying' kept their sound in clubs. The band went on hiatus around 2004 but returned to performing in 2012.

Eriksson remained the consistent frontman, while other members like Jens Odén and Peter Hammarström came through the lineup over time. Their music, built on straightforward dance beats and sing-along choruses, stayed in rotation at events long after its initial release.
