Eat-Man

Eat-Man formed in Tokyo in the mid-1990s with vocalist and songwriter Chihiro Onitsuka, guitarist Yasuhiro Fujioka, and bassist Hiroyuki Kojo. Their debut single 'Chiisana Koi No Melody' came out in 1997 and found an audience with its dreamy arrangements and Onitsuka's distinctive vocals.

Onitsuka's lyrics often dealt with love and emotional complexity, sometimes through surreal imagery. The band's sound mixed pop elements with rock and electronic touches, creating atmospheric tracks like 'Tabibito' and 'Black Cats' that avoided straightforward categorization.

They released seven studio albums over their active years. While their live shows could be described as unconventional, the music itself maintained a consistent mood of ethereal melancholy that resonated with listeners who appreciated something outside the mainstream pop formula.
