Eclipse Oculto

Eclipse Oculto was a Chilean hip-hop collective from Santiago, active in the late 1990s and 2000s. Their debut album came out in 1998, followed by records like 'Hablan los Muertos' in 2000 and 'Hiphopchileno' in 2010. The group included members Donatello, Shinoa, and Tiro de Gracia, with Shinoa handling production and Tiro de Gracia on DJ duties.

Songs like 'Hiphopchileno' and 'Perdido Em Mim' reflected this focus, with sharp lyrics set over beats that blended hip-hop with local influences. In 2003, they worked with American rapper El-P on 'The Neoprotestant EP', showing a more experimental side.

By the 2010s, Eclipse Oculto had become a reference point for Chilean hip-hop, influencing later artists in the scene. Their 2005 compilation 'Grandes Éxitos' collected earlier material, but it's the 2010 album and its title track that many remember as a high point. They didn't shy away from addressing injustice in their work, which resonated with fans in marginalized neighborhoods.
