Ecos del Rocío formed in 1982 in Almonte, Andalusia, with Eduardo Sánchez Pacheco on vocals and guitar, his brothers José Manuel and Juan José, and Manuel Acosta on bass. They started playing traditional flamenco with some contemporary touches. Their 1986 album 'Rociero' included the song 'Carmen,' which became their most recognizable track.
The band was cleared of plagiarism claims. They kept recording through the late '80s and '90s with albums like 'Alma Rociera' and 'La Voz del Cielo.'
Manuel Acosta left in 2001, replaced by José Manuel Fernández. Eduardo Sánchez Pacheco retired in 2015 and was succeeded by his son, Eduardo Sánchez Rodríguez. Their catalog includes songs like 'El niño costalero,' 'Hermano, pasa de ella,' and 'A la mas grande.'
