eCristo is a Christian metal band from Curitiba, Brazil that formed in 2007. Led by vocalist and guitarist Rafael Novarine, they started playing heavy music with religious themes, which initially drew some skepticism from church circles. Their debut album came out in 2010, sharing its name with the track 'Salmo 39 - Eu Disse: Eis Que Venho, Senhor, Com Prazer Faço a Vossa Vontade!' That song became something of an anthem for their listeners. The band's approach to blending faith with aggressive metal sounds drew criticism from some quarters who felt it presented Christianity in a distorted way.
They went on to release several more albums including 'Aqui Está a Sua Igreja' in 2012, 'Fiel' in 2014, and 'Vencedor' in 2018. Their sound incorporated progressive metal elements and occasional Brazilian rhythms while keeping their religious message central.
