Archive material and source history

Eddie Meduza was born Errol Leonard Norstedt in 1948. He started playing music as a teenager with his first band, The Roaring Cadillacs, and by the early 1970s he was becoming known in Sweden for a mix of rockabilly, country, and humor. His big break came in 1975 with 'Alla Tiders Fyllekalas,' a rowdy drinking anthem that became a hit and established him as a cult figure.

His lyrics often pushed boundaries and drew accusations of sexism, racism, and homophobia. He worked with musicians like Totta Näslund and Per 'Plura' Jonsson, and released albums such as 'Dansbandsplattan' in 1977 and 'Raggarplattan' in 1979. Songs like 'Bert Karlsson Blues' and 'De E Goett a Supa Poejka' kept his rough, humorous style going through the 1980s.

Meduza struggled with alcohol and drug addiction, which affected his work. He was found dead in his apartment in 2002. Despite the controversies, his music remains familiar in Swedish youth culture, where songs like 'Bonnaparty' and 'Bonnatwist' still get played.
