Edinho Rodrigues came from Cambuquira, a small town in Minas Gerais. He started making music early, drawing on the samba and bossa nova sounds around him. In 2005, his debut album came out, and its title track 'Coração Perfeito' caught on with listeners.
He put out more albums after that, like 'Alma Pura' in 2007 and 'Tempo' in 2010. He sometimes worked with other Brazilian musicians, including Ivan Lins and Gilberto Gil. For live shows, he played with a band that usually had Adalto Maia on bass and Márcio Bahia on drums.
In 2017, there was some public trouble over allegations about his behavior. He kept making music afterward, releasing 'Canções para Ninar' in 2015. His songs tend to lean toward the emotional side, with straightforward lyrics and melodies.
