Background notes

Archive material and source history

Edipo came up in Buenos Aires during the 1990s, part of that city's underground rock scene. Their debut album, also called "Falso Querer," came out in 1993. The song "Falso Querer" is a slow, moody track that gives a fair sense of what they were doing at the time.

Their sound pulled from alternative rock and post-punk, with lyrics that leaned toward the darker, more personal side of things. The frontman was Ezequiel "Epi" de la Vega, whose personal struggles and outspokenness became part of the band's story as they gained more attention.

After a hiatus in the late '90s, Edipo got back together in 2010 and put out an album called "Volver a Empezar." The current lineup includes de la Vega on vocals and guitar, Dario Campagnucci on guitar, Mariano "Mono" Garcia on bass, and Sebastian "Seba" Campos on drums.
