Edith Frost

Edith Frost formed in Baltimore in 2007, taking its name from a fictional character in the film 'The Hudsucker Proxy.' The original lineup included guitarist and vocalist Mark Padgett, bassist and vocalist Taylor Kuffner, and drummer Michael Spann. They've released four albums, starting with 'Asterisk' in 2009 and most recently 'Speak Low' in 2017.

Their songs like 'Albany Blues' and 'Bluish bells' show a sound that leans toward atmospheric rock with folk touches. Padgett's vocals carry a haunted quality that suits the material. The band has toured in the U.S. and Europe, sometimes opening for acts like The National.

After Spann left in 2013, the drum seat rotated before Josh Marsh joined. The group faced plagiarism accusations in 2014, which they denied. They've kept working since, putting out records that critics have noted for their emotional texture.
