Edivaldo Prince came from Jataúba, Pernambuco, where forró was part of the local sound. He started performing at festivals around there before music producer Zildo Roberto took notice in 1985.
His song 'Hoje A Noite É Nossa' became a standard at Brazilian parties, especially after the album of the same name came out in 2000. He'd been recording since at least 1987 with 'Forró do Príncipe'.
There were some accusations of plagiarism in the 1990s that he had to deal with legally. He kept recording after that, and his music stayed in circulation.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
