Edley formed in São Paulo in the late 2000s with Leonardo Ramos on vocals, Edgard Scandurra on guitar, Lucas Silveira on bass, and Dani Zimbres on drums. They took their name from the fifth floor of a building where they used to rehearse, which later became the title of their debut album and its lead single, '5º Andar.' That song came out in 2010 and helped establish them as a Brazilian pop-rock band.
Their catalog includes albums like A Vida por um Fio from 2011, Inventário in 2012, and Novos Tempos in 2014. Other songs like 'O Garoto Que Voa' and 'Azul' are part of their set. In 2014, drummer Dani Zimbres was arrested for drug possession and left the band, which took a brief break afterward.
Edley returned with Vida Loka in 2016, Caixa Postal in 2018, and an acoustic release called Acústico em Casa in 2020. They built a following in Brazil with straightforward pop-rock material and kept recording through the decade.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
