Edmund Hockridge was a singer and songwriter from London. He wrote the song "Yesterday," which became famous when the Beatles recorded it in 1965. The Beatles' producer George Martin heard a demo of the song and arranged for them to record it.
Hockridge also wrote other songs that were recorded by other artists, including "Crying in the Rain" for the Everly Brothers and "A World Without Love" for Peter and Gordon. He performed live with a band that included guitarist John Richards, bassist Paul Foster, and drummer Terry M.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
