Edson Debonna

Edson Debonna came from São José do Cedro in Santa Catarina, playing local bars before signing with Som Livre in 2014. His debut album arrived two years later, anchored by the single 'Então Eu Percebi' that found an audience despite some early criticism of his approach to sertanejo.

That song and others like 'Meu Filho, Meu Amigo' and 'Só Pra Matar a Saudade' work with straightforward themes of family, friendship, and memory. He's released several albums since, including 'Dois' in 2018 and 'Essencial' in 2022, usually backed by musicians like guitarist Guilherme Venturini and percussionist Rafinha.

Outside of recording, Debonna has talked openly about his own experiences with anxiety and depression, framing it as part of a broader conversation about mental health. He faced plagiarism accusations in 2019 over the song 'Ela Sabe,' which were denied and didn't lead to legal action.
