Edu Negrão, born Eduardo Negrão de Lima, started playing music in Brazil in the early 1980s. He was a guitarist and singer who listened to Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Chico Buarque, and Milton Nascimento.
His debut album came out in 1986, and it was called Ventura. The title track, a ballad about love and loss, became a hit and helped make him known.
He worked with other Brazilian musicians like Simone, Cássia Eller, and Ney Matogrosso. In the early 2000s, he had some legal trouble over royalties.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
