Egg was a British progressive rock band that formed in Canterbury in 1969. The group featured Dave Stewart on vocals and keyboards, Steve Hillage on guitar, Mont Campbell on bass, and Clive Brooks on drums. They released three studio albums between 1970 and 1974, starting with their self-titled debut in 1970.

Their music blended folk, jazz, and classical elements into complex arrangements. The track 'sorry haha i fell asleep' appeared on their 1974 album 'Civil Surface,' which showed a somewhat more melodic side compared to their earlier work. Other songs in their catalog include 'passing papers' and 'I Will Be Absorbed.'

Egg disbanded in 1974 after what the existing history describes as internal tensions and limited commercial success. Their music has maintained a cult following among progressive rock listeners since then.
