Eggo formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s around vocalist Felipe Augusto, with drummer Rodrigo Sousa, bassist Guilherme Almeida, and guitarist Luan Santana. Their 2004 debut album "Você e Eu" gave them a national audience, anchored by the title track's balladry. They followed with records like "Estado de Espírito" in 2006 and "Eggo" in 2008.
Their lyrics sometimes touched on sexuality and mental health, which drew both listeners and criticism. In 2007 they faced a defamation lawsuit over a song about a politician; it ended in a settlement years later. Other songs in their catalog include "Vem Cá," "Pantera," and "Morí Por Ti."
They kept releasing albums into the 2010s, like "Tudo ou Nada" in 2010 and "O Último Dia" in 2012. The band's sound mixed pop with more introspective turns, heard in tracks like "Todo Va a Salir Bien."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
