Ego Absence formed in 2010, a five-piece metal band that built its following through steady live shows. They put out their first EP, 'The Blackest Void,' in 2012. Their 2015 album 'Embers of Ruin' got some critical attention, though the lyrics on tracks like 'Let It Burn' drew complaints about being too dark or nihilistic for some listeners.
The band's vocalist goes by the name The Raven. In 2017, their original drummer, who used the stage name The Shadow, left the group. They found a replacement and kept going, releasing a third album called 'Requiem for the Forgotten.' Some of their more recent songs include 'Colibri,' 'Bloodstained' with Vitor Veiga, and 'Intimate Wounds' featuring Matt Marinelli.
